About the Luxembourg Mental Health Weeks

Every two years since 2018, D'Ligue (The Luxembourgish Ligue for Mental Hygiene) organises two weeks of mental health awareness events and information. This year, the Semaines de la Santé Mentale (Mental Health Weeks) are from 7th to 20th October.

This year's theme is "Empowering Young People, Shaping Futures (Soutenir les jeunes, construire l'avenir)".

Our video campaign

For children and young people

Given this year's mental health weeks' theme of empowering young people and shaping futures, we wanted to create videos for children and young people. Our videos, sharing tips for wellbeing based on the evidence base from Positive Psychology, are between 8 and 12 minutes long. They are intended to support mental health and wellbeing through simple everyday helpful mental hygiene practices.

Children and Young people can watch them by themselves, with their parents, or in school. To this end, we have shared the videos with IFEN and CePAS, and with a few individual schools where we have contacts.

In English, for all age groups of children and young people:

In German, for children in cycles 2-4 of primary school:

In French, for children and young people in secondary education:

For the general public

We also wanted to take the opportunity of this year's mental health weeks to provide some brief videos (1-2 mins each) for the general public. Pro-active mental health and wellbeing practices are important at any age.

You can view all videos at this YouTube playlist. Please feel free to share the full playlist or individual videos with your contacts; via social media, e-mail, by watching them with your children, etc.

Supporting positive mental health across Luxembourg and the bordering regions

At PPL, we wish to support positive mental health and wellbeing practices throughout Luxembourg and neighbouring regions.

We do this by sharing Positive Psychology tips in a variety of ways, including by attending and presenting at Positive Psychology conferences, supporting relevant research, organising in-person and virtual events, and by creating and sharing videos such as the ones we have created for the Luxembourg Mental Health Weeks.

If you would like to become involved with PPL, you can explore our membership options, or contact us for more information.
